Onboarding Website

Please read the below instructions carefully. Office 365 has been activated to allow communication and collaboration.  Do Not Use personal cell phone or laptop to log into O365 portal.

Step 1- Obtaining a working device

To obtain an alternate computing device, visit an EMIT staffed location (IT Enabler Pickup) unless you’ve been previously instructed otherwise. Ensure to bring your current laptop and power supply with you.  If you are unsure how to proceed, contact your Business Continuity Planning Coordinator or supervisor.

Once you have a working device use the below instructions to log into Office 365.

If you have a company owned iOS device, you may log into Office 365 (see instructions below) at any time using that device.

Step 2 – Logging in to Office 365

Office 365 Log on Instructions

If you are having trouble logging in with your default password after three attempts, do not continue to attempt to log in. Please reach out to the Help Desk or your Local EMIT contact for assistance. If you lock out your Office 365 account, the process will take longer to allow you to successfully sign in.

  1. Open an internet browser (e.g. Google Chrome) & navigate to https://portal.office.com
  2.  Enter User ID and Password

Your User ID is similar to your normal work email address, but changed to add “alt” before “.com” or “.ca”

Examples

John.d.doe@happycompany.com => John.d.doe@happycompanyalt.com

jane.x.smith@itcompany.ca => jane.x.smith@itcompanyalt.ca

Your password was included in the notification you received – read it carefully as you need to include some information unique to you as part of the password. What you received in the alert is not your EXACT password.
